World’s fastest car competition –The Rise of the Hennessy Venom GT

The Hennessy Venom GT  is the next challenger for the world’s fastest car spot, this car is futuristic and looks as if it comes from a super hero movie. It looks so cool it could have been used as the Bat-mobile.

The Hennessy Venom GT has a top speed of 260mph just 7mph short of the tested speed of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport which is 267mph set in Germany in 2010. The Hennessy Venom Gt is faster than the two previous fastest cars in the world which are the SSC Ultimate Aero which became the world’s fastest car in 2007 with a tested top speed of 257mph and the Bugatti Veyron before that which had a top speed of 253mph.

The Hennessy Venom is currently tied at 2nd place as the world second fastest car with the Koenigsegg Agera R which also has a tested top speed of 260mph. The competition has never been so close there are so many cars gunning for that top spot now and all of them within reach. With proper tuning and modification and an excellent driver, speed records are going to be shattered in the next few years.

The Hennessy is powered by a 6.2l turbocharged V8 twin-turbo engine, which produces 1200hp. It goes from 0-6omph in 2.5 seconds. It costs $950 000 so it is definitely not cheap, no super car comes cheap especially one vying for the world fastest car title. Some people believe that the Hennessy actually can go faster than the Bugatti Veyron Super sport, but before we can say that we are going to wait for the proof.

The Venom Gt is based on a modified Lotus Exige Chassis and the engine used in the Venom Gt is the same one used in the Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1. It is manufactured by Hennessy Performance Engineering. And its design was first revealed in March of 2010.

What kind of person are you – the loner or the social type

I have always been a loner, ever since I could remember I preferred being by myself rather than being with other people. I always thought it was because of my parents and the fact that we moved a lot, and this being a loner thing was a result of the fact that every time we moved I had to leave my old friends and make new ones.

I always had two kinds of friends, my neighbourhood friends and my friends at school, the school I went to was always a bit far from the place I lived and I always seemed to go to a different school than my neighbourhood friends. As time went on a we moved once more I stopped making neighbourhood friends and only had friends at school, the problem was they were also sort of like me, antisocial types so we got along just fine.
I did not really like attention from people because I felt if I was popular than I would have to deal with speaking to people I do not like, dealing with negative people and people who did things I was against at that time. My not being social, not being seeing anywhere created this mysteriousness around me. No one really understood me; in fact I did not understand myself. People would come to me and say they know my type and that people like me, the silent type are the ones people should watch out for. Others have even said if anyone could commit those mass murder type killings it would be me.

I was a pretty weird kid most of the time against most of what people said, maybe because I did not want to be associated with what the majority of people did or believed. I thought people did not think first, they just did and followed and I was against sheepish behaviour. This was around the time I started to question my own religion, I figured I had never really had or chosen my own religion up until that point I believed what my parents had led me to believe.

I was a heavy thinker, sometimes I would think of the weirdest things. I felt like what was the brain for if not to think, I wanted to understand people and how they behave or react and sometimes I would deliberately do something or say something to someone to see how much I could get away with saying or doing. I found that most people did not get my style of interaction until it was absolutely blunt and in their face.

Most of the time I did not care what others thought of me, in fact I did not want to interact with most people but there were a few people I did care about. I cared about what they thought of me and hoped that they saw through my shields and external toughness. Only one person has ever really understood me in my life and that mostly because we were alike and she figured out my tells but also the fact that I let her in. I guess I understand now why people who are/who were in love break down when they are hurt in relationships; it is because they have exposed themselves to their partners and they are at their most vulnerable. Their partners know how to hurt them but as people especially people in love we hope that our partners will not hurt us and use this vulnerability to show our trust. When this trust is shattered it could take anything from months to years to ever open up to someone else like that again.

When I left home and went to university I was introduced to a whole new world, see I was a loner but I have never had a difficult time getting along with other people, most of the time I just chose not to interact with others or to take the initiative and introduce myself to others. I met a few guys early on because I lived in a mixed residence with both guys and girls. We got close pretty early on and by a few weeks time all the cliques had been already formed. Instead of sitting by myself all day every day, I would watch soccer with the guys, watch rugby with the guys, watch movies, series and play x-box 360 with the guys. We would smoke hubbly bubbly and go out to clubs with the guys to just pick up chicks and have fun. I had never before spent so much time with other guys with the exception of when I was still a kid before our first move.

I finally realised that because I never really had a hard time socialising it was my parent’s fault that I became antisocial because of all the moving around. I in turn stopped interacting with others because maybe I felt that I would make new friends and would have to leave them soon. I did not want to form emotional ties that I would soon have to forget.

Lessons I have learnt in my first few months blogging

I have been blogging for almost 5 months now, and there is a lot of information I have picked up during this period. I have read hundreds of articles on blogging. They range from social media, SEO, monetising creating back-links to content creation.

INFORMATION OVER LOAD - Finding someone to listen to

What I have noticed is that there is so much information on blogging out there, most of the time everyone says the same thing, there are no fresh ideas but other times there are bloggers out there who go out of their ways to show that they know what they are talking about and actually prove that their back-linking strategies work and that you can still have a successful blog in this day and age. There are successful 6 & 7 figure bloggers out there who share what others make you pay for free. It is hard to sift through all the garbage on the internet and find these guys but once you do, you never really need to listen to anyone else. There are guys out there that are supposed to teach you how to make money online and have a successful blog when they have no idea what they are talking about, when they themselves do not make any money and hardly have any real traffic and no authority what so ever.

I have learnt that you need to blog about something you know and are passionate about so that you share quality content with your readers, I was lucky enough to be a fitness junkie when I started my first fitness blog so it was not difficult for me to choose a niche that I wanted to appeal to, it was not difficult to post legit proven content because I was living it. I did not need to make up stuff and have to do research all the time because I had knowledge and experience with my topic. When I created this blog Genie Rising I wanted to post about other random things that interest me that were not just fitness, I did not have a niche in mind and I still don’t and that is fine with me to be general.

PLANNING AHEAD - Growth strategy

I have learnt that is it good to plan ahead, set goals for the growth of your blog so that you know what you are doing now and why you are doing it. When I started blogging I used to post every other day, which would result in 3 posts per week and about 12 posts a month. I felt like that was the right move but then I read to improve in search engine rankings and Alexa rankings I had to posts as often as possible, because in the blogging world it is believed that content is king. I then increased the number of posts per week to 5 and it did bring me results, exponential growth in fact my fitness blog moved from a page rank of 0 to 3.

Content creation was always my main kind of strategy for growing my blog with blog commenting here and there. I realised that I was listening to the wrong kind of advice from guys who were not in the same niche as me, posting once or twice everyday was their advice for the fastest growth and that really works but it is really difficult considering the fact that I am a one man team. When I looked at top fitness blogs they did not post that much on their blogs and yet they were getting lots of traffic from search engines and other places as well.

Quality vs Quantity

The key in the fitness world was quality more than quantity because unlike other niches, the content was more evergreen than stuff sites about blogging had to post because the internet is ever changing but working out and keeping fit does not change much. I realised that I was on the right track when I was posting just 12 posts a month. I have since decided that for my main blog I will post as much as possible but only if the article is great quality and I have decided to make my posts long since that helps with rankings. So now I put a lot more detail in my posts, I now make my posts a minimum of 400 words unless it is a video post or an update on something but preferably I will post articles of over 600 words, I have already implemented this on my fitness blog and the past few post have been averaging over 800 words.

I like to mix in list posts, motivational post and highly informational posts with the occasional post that is sort of like a case-study or experiment to show that the workouts I’m doing work. I have found the combination to be successful in bringing in different sorts of traffic.

THE HARD TIMES

I noticed that my fitness blog took a little hit in the recent update because I really was not doing enough back-linking and I managed to bounce back. I started creating a lot of strong back-links and link wheels through satellite site. I was submitting unique articles to ezine articles, Squidoo, Hubpages, made satellite sites on blogger, Tumblr and it was proving effective. A couple people used my ezine articles and I got linked to by others, everything was going great till one day on the 12 of april I lost 75% of my traffic and I could not find my blog anywhere on search engines. I was ranking on the first page for many keywords I was targeting and I had a lot of my posts on the second and third page of Google before the 12th, but it was all gone in 1 day.

I was worried and I’m still worried about what was happening, I did not know what was happening. I Google to see if anyone has ever had the same happen to them and what they did to combat this problem, I found out about the Google dance, apparently if you suddenly start a back-linking campaign which is what I was doing your site does the Google dance because Google does not know where to put your site, it may take anything from a few days to a couple of weeks for your site to go back to normal and people say that they often see an improvement in their ranking after the dance is over.

I had just gotten adsense and was starting to make some money when this happened to me, I did not have too many ads above the fold so I did not think that I was affected by the update relating to too many ads above the fold.

The past couple of weeks have been very depressing for me; I even lost inspiration to write posts for a couple days. I enjoy blogging and find it to be addictive and I am statistics obsessed which is why I have been depressed lately because I was making such good progress. I have decided that I am going to push on and that now is not the time to give up, I have to learn from my mistakes and continue to use all of the knowledge I pick up and eventually my blog will have multiple steams of traffic not only Google traffic.

I have that I will create back-links every month but this time my link building will be more spread out, I will continue to only use white-hat tactics so that I do not get in trouble. I hope to continue blogging and hope that my hard work pays off in the end. Every blogger experiences little speed bumps on the road and maybe it’s these little hurdles that make the difference between the successful bloggers who are killing it online and those that give up before their hard work pays off.

New generation of Cell Phones - rapid technological advancements

I have always been a fan of Nokia, but I have not been into cellphones for a while. Last I was into cell phones Nokia (for its quality), Motorola (for style) and Samsung(features) were the big guys in the Cellphone industry here in SA . Then came Sony Ericsson with it's specialities, be it for gaming (who best to make gaming phones then the makers of the playstation 1,2 3 and PSP's), photography or music speciality phones. Another one of those  mobile phone companies who have had a meteoric rise to the top of the South African Cell phone rankings and has become the most popular and home to some of the most irritating social creatures is the Blackberry be it the curve, bold.
the sony ericsson xperia play - best mobile games phone
Sony Ericcson Xperia play gaming phone

For those people who could afford it the iPhone of late has become popular not only in SA but it has taken the world by storm especially the iPhone 4s, this has forced companies like Nokia to move to the next level and make their latest addition of smart phones  the Nokia Lumia 800/900 to operate under the Windows OS, not Symbian like its predecessors. I personally liked Nokia's style before with their N95/96/97 smart phones, those were brilliant phones, and multimedia devices, they always offered a certain Nokia style and quality as well as alot of internal memory.

What I see now with Nokia's new direction is not individuality so much so but I see them trying to keep up and not leading the way as they did in the past, they are going for the iPhone type phone which is not bad and that is in fact the direction in which phones are headed, Cell phones have just become smaller tablets, or personal computers. Soon there will be no need for people to buy tablets because the cell phones will have all tablet abilities ans more with a more compact size. The design has become simple again, with just a rectangular shape, with a big screen and an attempt to make the lame shape attractive by using fancy casing. Its following the old trend of first making big cell phones with the latest features, then who can make the smallest but in this case thinnest, lightest phone with the same features as the competitors model, then they will improve the phone slightly while keeping the price high.

Cell phones, have become centred around apps and which offers the best apps with the best functionality, before the focus on getting the best screen resolution, the best touch screen interface (usability and all other things), the biggest memory and RAM (yes these devices are slowly becoming more powerful), who had the best stylish and which phone was best for entertainment. Now it has become the war of the applications, as if we need life to be made easier then it already is. Cell phone companies have also been advertising their phones as social media devices with things like Instagram which was an elite social network for fast photo sharing for Iphone users only (Which caused a big stir in the social media world when it sold out to Facebook for a billion us dollars. Other brands like blackberry use the elitist BBM as a social network to connect blackberry users, the social network has gotten so big here that you get left out of things just because everyone, organised and talked about things without your knowledge because you do not have BBM.

These brands work very smart they create little niches of supporters splitting the cell phone users into little iPhone and Blackberry Cliques where those who do not buy into that brand get left out, its like high school all over again, with the cool kids doing all the fun stuff and the parties...Hehe I'm just saying its a good marketing ploy, kids can beg their parents to get a Black Berry because 'everyone has it' and make their parents feel guilty if their kids social life suffers because they are not following this trend.

As for me I do not like following trends any more, I used to be into following technological changes but technology changes too fast for my liking. So I will buy my technology one 24 month contract at a time.

Be your own person - Do what you want to do

Take Back Control of Your Life

Its time to take back control of your life, that is assuming that you ever had control of your own life. At first it was your parents that controlled you, it was them who laid the foundation for who you were going to be, then it was your friends or lack of friends that made you a certain way. As you grew older it was society that controlled how you behaved through its judgement and conservative outlook. It was society who put you in a box with the rest of the people.

Be Different

To be something in this world you have to be different, you have to break free from the societal hold and finally express your true self. Your true-self is the only person that will leave a mark in this world, its your true self that is inside you that wants to be introduced to the world. Pleasing others by being this timid people pleasing person does not get you anywhere, its time to break free and do what you feel like doing. People have jobs they do not enjoy because they have no self belief to push hard and do what they really want to do, Guys are afraid of girls because they were never thought to communicate, their parents failed them. People lack creativity because 12 years of education ripped the creativity right out of them. What happened to the little kid who used to draw things around him, the kid who used to draw animals, trees, buildings, the kid who ran around freely with no care in the world, I will tell you what happened. As the years went by that little kid lost a part of himself until eventually he was like everybody else.

Do What others are not willing to do

When someone is a deviant everyone including the people you call your friends try so hard to make you like them, but what they do not realise is that we are not meant to be the same. As long as no laws and hearts are broken you can do what-ever you feel like doing. Some of us were not meant to work in offices and live in the same place till we push daises, people say the world is your oyster and yet they restrict themselves to what they are comfortable with. The many people who are successful are not successful because they have some special gift, they are successful because they were willing to do what others were not willing to do. In many things in life if you put in the hard work, if you sweat, fail and rise even stronger and smarter from your failures surely you shall conquer.

If you want something in life you work your butt off now so that you will have the comfort you seek later and then some...

WHY WE DO THE THINGS WE DO

If you think about it, life is supposed to be simple, we are born we grow up, mature find a mate and make babies, raise the babies and die. That happens but there is some Sh*t that happens in between that f*cks up the whole simplicity of this process. The truth is we humans are mostly self serving and and hate it when others are better than us so we complicated things. I want to you to just look at what drives the average human to do certain tasks, things like sex, and money.

Most people spend their lives chasing after riches, their whole life is based around the acquisition of supposed power that comes with having lot of money. People would do anything for money, they would kill, steal, sell kids, sell drugs and even sell themselves just to make some money. The concept of money brought with it all this negative stuff.
freedom launching into space
being the best richest most powerful - launching yourself to the top

The other main thing that drives people is sex, some guys spend their lives chasing tail, even the rise in sexually transmitted diseases has not stop people from spreading their legs or digging in every hole that permits. I have to say that as a guy I think about sex all the time and everything I do is to in the end be able to get into some girls pants, even initial attraction is sexual  desire. When most guys see a girl they have already decided whether they would bang them or not and all the steps following that such as the flirtation, asking out, dancing, buying of drinks and treating the girl extra special and giving her all those compliments and attention is just so the guy can get into her pants. Relationships are more about finding a regular almost guaranteed shag but take other things into consideration so that you can stand to be around that person when you are not consummating your love. People like adding expenses to this simple need, girls take advantage of this by making the guy work for it because seems that guys usually are more into sex then girls. It should be pretty obvious that a guy who is with you wants to sleep with you, all that he does is for that end result, that does not make him a bad guy just a guy.

As I have been saying money and sex are the main things that drive us but some people go out their way to find a deeper meaning of life and their existence. I simply think of it this way, If I were filthy rich or could afford to live without working then I would not work or study, all I would do is to do what-ever I felt like doing, be it travelling the world or chasing skirts. I would not work or study because we only do that so that we can live comfortably and sometimes in luxury for the richer folks, but I do acknowledge that there are those who love the process of studying ( like those people forever studying and acquiring different degrees and specialities) . Many people do not work because they want to, they do what they have to, to support their lifestyle and get what they want. Some people are just best suited for the life of an artist which is a lot less structured and more self expressive.

Transportation through the years - technology is moving forward so fast

I was thinking today, it must have taken crazy men to think of all this stuff that is around us, but I'm especially fascinated by how transportation has changed through the years and at such an alarming rate. The human mind is the most powerful tool/weapon I tell you. Popular transportation mediums change all the time, from the days when walking was our way of going from place to place to this day when humans have been to space and we can travel safely across oceans within hours to places we would have never even known of their existence. The world is so connected now, some of these advancements in the speed of transportation have their disadvantages and have changed how the world operates and does business.

They have changed the way wars are fought, the more technology and transport improves the more the weapons associated with those modes of transport improve as well, we are in the middle of the best years in technology, technology is improving at a pace like never before, but we are in the most dangerous period in our history where it is so easy for nations to cause massive destruction within minutes, which is why it is important to try and keep the world as peaceful as possible.

Oh I was going a bit off topic there, I actually wanted to share some pictures to look down memory lane and see where we humans have been and where we are going in terms of modes of transport:

khoi-san
Bushman

horses for transport
Horses

olden day ships
Battle ship

big wheel bicycle
first few bicycles

the rail way system
First kind of trains

old classic cars
First cars

bikes back in the day
First motorcycle

crash and burn
first aeroplane

man going to the moon
first rocket launch

I wonder where we are going next, since all these modes of transportation were invented they have since been significantly improved. Maybe the next thing will be a big mother-ship that will be able to take a large number of the population in search of a planet that is like ours..well who knows. Until then I shall admire what we have now, there is so much to be thankful here in the world, so much to explore so many different places to see. Why do we waste time fighting when we should be exploring this beautiful world we live in.

How the recent google update has affected my blogs

The recent update (last week) has gotten rid of some link networks and many people who used link networks have been affected, I have not used any link networks since I cannot afford them yet, i prefer to spend money made from blogging to get more blog related paid products.

My other site which was starting to get some decent traffic was affected, before the update I was getting regular clicks and just as I joined click bank affiliates my traffic took a hit. This could have been because I did not have enough back links yet, I really have not been creating enough back links to get google trust. I could have done more in terms of blog commenting, guest blogging and submitting to article directories but I was still focusing on content creation on my other blog. My strategy seemed to be working until the update but I feel I will be back to where I was in terms of traffic in a week or so.

And as back up I have started to create content for ezine articles and I have began creating satellite sites to earn extra from affiliate sales and direct traffic to my site, this is already paying off, so I expect to be doing even better then I was before the update.

It is actually a good thing that the update came now, it has thought me to link build some more and forced me to start now and do a bit each day that will make sure my main blog grows exponentially in the next few months. I am certainly not the lazy type and I like creating new content especially in the fitness niche as I am passionate about working out and helping others gain the muscle they want.

I know that there are many more google updates coming, and I want to make my blogs so that they are not negatively affected by google updates. Pat from smart passive income made some very valid points in his lastest update. There has been talk of google taking social media into account to rank sites, that will not do me any good since I am not active yet in social media but I want to focus on content creation and building links from now onwards.

The greatest super hero powers

SO WHICH IS THE GREATEST AND BEST SUPER HERO POWER.....

Lets face it we have all at some point wished we were super heroes or heroins, we have all wished to have super powers. Maybe it was because we had  very active imaginations as kids, we wore costumes and had all sorts of super hero toys to play with. The funny thing is some of us have not outgrown the love of super heroes and still have active imaginations. One of many questions that pops up is if you were a hero who would you be or more importantly what powers would you want if you were a super hero?

Would you be like Superman, the Green Lantern, the Flash, The hulk even though he is not really a super hero, Captain America, Spider-man, Aqua-man the list goes on and on. Would you rather be super smart and have man-made powers like Batman and Iron-man.

Its a good thing most super heroes don't get to choose really because it would be a really difficult choice. Just think about it, each super power, usually has its own weakness, no-one can be invincible. Would you go for super strength, the ability to fly, to have a ring that make you do what ever your mind can conjure up, to control the elements, to heal faster than any human, to be animal like, beastly and have powers that mimic others like some of the mutations in X-men.
To be a demi-god like Hercules or to be a God yourself not that these are super heroes but they do have super powers.

This would a tough decision but If I were to choose I would be the alien Superman he has a variety of super powers and his only weakness is kryptonite. If there were any krytonite I am sure it would be hard to find and if I were Clark Kent I would have killed lex or any other villain long ago.

I guess that is why we can not all be super heroes and why super heroes are vigilantes. We could use our powers for wrong doing and to TAKE OVER THE WORLD.

Then again being a villain is not so bad, in the movies and comics that is when they are not always making you lose, you have cool powers and get to do all the fun stuff like destroying  buildings and infrastructure and cars, plus you don;t follow any rules you do what you like when you want to do it and you don't your identity, people shit scared of you. The super hero has to chase after you and worry about saving people when you two are fighting, but he hides his true-self from the very people he protects. Perhaps for some the initial question is better rephrased as which villain power is the greatest?  Well that is a topic for another post all together now.

BlackBerry and its BBM are everywhere and going strong

Blackberry is everywhere, everywhere I turn its BBM this and BBM that, I have to admit its a cool application and it sucks because I am not one those people who do what others are doing and follow the trend. The worst part of all of this is that most people have it and those of us that don't have it miss out on things because everyone else has already shared the information on BBM. I like to call it the government handout phone becuase there are so many people carrying it around its as if its handed out for free.

Not all BlackBerry's are popular only the entry-level curve which comes in different colors for personal customisation like pink, white and black.

Phone people love to hate
Then the is the BlackBerry Bold and the Torch the other popular but more expensive options, I have no problems with those phones I think they are descent phones for this day and age, but there are better phones out there for the same price unless you are a socialite of-course.

Well the reason I wrote this post is because BlackBerry have released the latest version of the entry-level curve, the BlackBerry Curve 9360. They have improved it now, at-least its a descent phone now, it is more like the bold OS7 and liquid graphics. I suspect BlackBerry is going strong and is going to stay strong for a while, so if you are the type that wants the latest gossip and you don't want to miss any parties...then its the phone for you. As for me I'm not that into phones as I was a couple years ago, if it can make phone calls, has 3G and can email and surf the web, I'm cool with it as long as its not everywhere.

Oh and here's a picture of the latest curve:

Good versus Evil - we all do bad things at some point

I do not think there could ever be a world where there is just good, that is unimaginable. I also cannot think of a world that would be purely evil, I would imagine such a world would cease to exist because it would consume itself.

Wait a minute, earth slowly dying and edging ever closer to extinction. This year being 2012 there has been a lot of talk about the end of the world, the apocalypse, doomsday. According to some by the end of this year we will all be pushing daises, neighbours to the dinosaurs.

What does that have to do with being evil or doing bad things you might ask...think about it we are selfish creatures for years we have been destroying what ever is around us to make sure that are lives are so simplified that we hardly have to lift a nail, on our way to developing our world we have killed each other, enslaved each other, belittled each other. We have killed off so many species of animals and plants, made natural land concrete and uninhabitable to wildlife. We still to this day exploit each other using kids to do adult labour while overworking and underpaying them.

Most people care more about material things then the well being of others in their communities, towns, cities, states. We have seen nations commit genocide, watch other nations bomb others with atom bombs which still have an effect on the environment and the people who live around the affected places till this day. We would kill for money, uncles rape nieces. Heck most rape victims know the person who raped them. Men beat their women instead of protecting them. Children are sold as sex slaves and traded around the world, child trafficking happens even in times of disaster when we should be helping each other in times of need when people are at their most vulnerable.

Evil is everywhere its always lurking, you collect enemies without even realising, most of your enemies are not known to you. Your enemies the villains wait to strike when you least expect it, when you are most vulnerable. We all do some sort of wrong as some point, we stab our friends in the back and sleep with their wives/girlfriends, we lie to people while we take advantage of them. We sleep with girls who are so drunk they would sleep with any guy. We drug people and make them do things they would not do otherwise. Man is evil and this evil is within all of us, we all have the potential to do evil. It is up to us whether to act on our hatred or forgive who ever has wronged us. Evil consumes you if you let it in, it changes who you are and the lenghts you would go to, to get what you want.

On the other hand there is a lot good out there, there is as much good as there is evil and bad things, well no everywhere. There are people fighting for the good and well being of all humans out there, there are organisations and individuals within our communities who try to bring out the best in our youth so that they have bright futures ahead, away from crime and poverty. There are people fighting for equal rights of men and women, people fighting for the kids out there. Well theres no one fighting for the men because men are the usual perpetrators when it comes to doing bad things to the world, women and children. There are religious organisations out there trying to make a change that is positive to the world. And in the past decade or so there are people out there who are dedicated to changing how we see the world, its people, creatures and plant life when its comes to saving our earth and development that is not only good for humans but is also environmentally safe and brings minimal or no harm to nature.

I am not sure whether the world will end this year but what I am sure of is that in order to live well with others, and have a healthy relationship with those around you, you have to have good intentions. Doing bad things does not get you happiness, it spreads pain and more hate around, hate and evil is a destructive disease we would all be better off without.

Kissing on the first date and modern day courting

Historically it was more respectable for girls/women to play hard to get, the guy would spend weeks or even months trying to court the girl. Buying her gifts and giving her all sorts of attention before she even considered even going out with him. When a guy finally got the girl to go out with him it was another story getting her to kiss you and get all touchy and cosy.

I am certain there were girls who were easy and took less effort to get, and I am pretty sure they were frowned upon, just like girls who asked guys out on dates were frowned upon. It was always the guys job to do the chasing, but what now if the girl liked the guy and the guy was clueless...what was the girl to do? There have always been flaws with the old system of doing things.

Now fast forward to the future which is now ofcourse. It is still frowned upon for girls to ask guys out but it is a common occurrence now. Some of us guys are shy and need the girl to make the first move, whilst others like myself are more like predators and we don't like being the prey. I think it makes me value the girl less if she comes to me because most of the time it is not the girl you are into or attracted to that asks you out or tells you she has feelings for you. It would be a different story if it were an attractive girl who saw that you were too slow and you two had some chemistry before she asks you out.

There are always more subtle ways to get a guy to notice you such as hinting even though guys do not always pick up on it. Sometimes we do pick up on it but we are not really sure and we don't want to do something that might be embarrassing if we are wrong, or we don't do anything about it because we do not feel the same way and don't want to hurt the girl.

In addiction to who asks who out there is the problem of the first kiss and when you should kiss someone for the first time. In my experience I have found that its easy to kiss someone the first time you meet them if its at some sort of club. You have to find some sort of way to make it feel comfortable for them to kiss you as if you are not just a stranger, that has a lot to do with game (I will post about that at a later stage). Kissing someone on the first date or first time you meet them during night conditions is much easier than during a formal date because most girls don't want to seem like they are easy even if they wanted to kiss you.

If you meet someone at some occasion it is not uncommon for you guys to hit it off but the probability of you kissing is higher on a second meeting, because than they feel like they know you and you not a stranger and they don't feel cheap and easy. The whole thing of kissing, making out on the first date is linked often to one night stand especially when it comes to club situation. I have no idea whether, it is the night, lights, music, alcohol that makes those conditions more sexual and high paced  or maybe its the combination of all those elements.

To end this I would like to that some things have changed a lot when it comes to getting girls and when your first kiss is but certain elements of original courtship are still in place. You need to be confident and smooth and well presented, a guy with no game in the past would still be unsuccessful today. The game has not changed, only conditions have changed.

blogs are like tv shows

Successful blogs have a lot of traffic, and a loyal following that looks forward to every post and buys the products the blogs release and advertise. Successful tv shows like the Dr Phil show or the Oprah Show before it ended work much in the same way, they have a loyal international following making their traffic flow in by the millions and making their hosts filthy rich. What ever these shows endorse people mindlessly buy just because Oprah said its a good book or something like that, instantly taking those products to the best sellers list.

Shows associated with Oprah like the Dr Phil show and that show with Dr Oz become an instant success and get alot of traffic, its just up to them to entertain and keep the traffic by having relevant and interesting shows.

This is much like how if a young blog suddenly gets noticed by an established blog it receives alot of traffic and then its up to you the small blogger to make sure your blog is prepared for the traffic, it is monetised (if you are in it for making some money) and that you have content that people would be interested in so that they subscribe to your blog.

Just like the successful television shows, anything that the big blogs advertise is an instant hit with the big blogs loyal following especially if the blog has a reputation for recommending good products. I am beginning to see that many things that are successful have a lot of things in common, whether its a radio show, or tv show or even a good relationship.

We all want to be tall

Nobody likes being short or being really tall for that matter but we would all like to be atleast the same height as everyone else around us. Girls are relatively shorter than guys buy there are alot of girls who are as tall as guys for example models.

Your height is dependant on lots of factors such as genetics and your health and nutrition during different stages of development. If for example you started doing certain kinds of drugs or were exposed to dangerous toxins when you were growing up, this could have stunted your growth. Even if you mother used drugs when she was pregnant with you, that could have stunted your growth especially in the early stages.

My parents are both about 5'9'' (1.74-1.75m) and I am already taller than them at around 5'11''(1.8m) tall. My grand father on my fathers side was above 6'0'' tall and so was my uncle who is my dads younger brother, and only one of my close cousins in tall standing at 6'2''. The rest of my family are either short or average sized. Average could be anything depending on your country, the stats are different for guys and girls. Here in South Africa we are not the tallest people in the world with our guys at an average height of 5'7''(1.69m) just look at our soccer team Bafana Bafana.

A friend of mine who is pretty short or average in terms of our country once told me that he has always been short and has gotten used to it and he has no problem with his height. He told me that its people like me who are in the fringe of being tall that have issues with height. He said that we fringe people were like silver medallist, so close yet so far. I had to agree with him, I am taller than most people I meet but I feel short and wish a had an inch more in height so I could be that magical 6'0'' tall even though I don't think that would make me tall since there is not much difference between me now and if I was an inch taller.

This height thing is so weird because I would move from a public setting where I was taller than most of the people and then I would go to a club where I would then be dwarfed by most of the people including the girls because that particular club would be filled with models and model types.

I don't like feeling little and therefore I do not usually approach chicks who are BIGGER than me, its intimidating somehow but if they are sexy its a kind of turn on. I do not find women who look like they can beat me up attractive. As for guys, I am not the biggest, I am normal size so there will always be taller bigger guys and I do not care much about guys but it feels weird if I am the smallest shortest guy in the group, I guess the Australian rugby captain got used to that a long time ago.

The new Rulers of african football

Its a bit late but never late then never, I would like to congratulate Zambia on a job well done. They have made us proud. They have beaten all the teams that were favourites to win the AFCON, I don't think there was a more deserving team.

It is the best kind of victory, a true victory when you have beaten all of the competitions best teams in order to get the title. I wish Zambia the best for the future and i hope this opens more opportunities for their players to go play in the big leagues in Europe.

I also hope this has encouraged some more African players to come and play in the PSL as our standard of football and pay is up there with the best of them, especially if you are comparing us with other African, Asian or South American leagues.

I hope the South  African team Bafana Bafana and its management were watching Zambia and what it has accomplished. I hope that we will qualify for the AFCON here in South Africa a few years from now and do not rely on our automatic qualification as host like we did for the world cup only to get out in the first round.

As for Ivory Coast tough luck, Drogba should really learn to relax and not miss those penalties in finals, first in 2006 and again this year. This is disappointing from a guy who scores under enormous pressure in the eufa and English Premiership. They golden generation is not winning any AFCONS and its not like the captain is getting any younger. Funny thing is no goals were scored against Ivory Coast during the whole competition, they had a solid defence but eventually lost out in penalty shoot-outs.

I don't understand fashion.

The fashion industry has controlled how women and certain metro men feel about their looks and the way they dress for ages now. It is responsible for spreading anorexic images and making women all over the world feel bad for not being size zero.

The industry is not all bad, it has provided the world new trends and styles in fashion wear. It has made people look good, sexy, serious depending on which look you were going for. It is responsible for making men more self conscious, and take their dress style more serious not only in business situations. Its not all bad, former super models like Tyra Banks have been promoting the good healthy side of the modelling and fashion industry.

With that said I do not get how women have been following advice of gay men in the fashion industry or the ugly women in the background on what is attractive to us straight men ( not that all people in fashion are gay or not so attractive themselves). We do not all like skinny flat chested women, in fact most of us don't like those kinda girls.

These fashion shows are more like art shows and these models and outfits are like pieces of art that's why you often find weird looking or exotic looking fashion models who might not necessarily be considered attractive by general society but they fit the fashion industry. And another thing in magazines you find fashion labels advertising something with nothing but nude fashion models, I do not get how that is considered as fashion at all when there are no clothes in the picture.

I am not a fashionable guy, I am not metro sexual, I wear what ever I feel like wearing, I don't give myself headaches thinking about what I am going to wear. I am a jeans/shorts and wife-beater kind of guy, a minimalist. I prefer not wearing much clothing at all, as long as I'm clean and smell good, its okay with me. All I'm saying is I do not get what all the fuss about fashion is about, if you understand it and it makes you happy and gives you a positive self image then that's great.

Doing what you really want to do - bringing what's in your head to reality

We all have things we want to do, but we don't do them because we are afraid of what people will think, we think our ideas suck, and then we end up not following through with in action plan and possibly great ideas go to waste.

Doing what we want to do may be a new business plan or actually being our true selves around people, it may be telling the girl you are crazy about how you feel about her. The worst part is that when you don't do what you really want to do you always have that 'what if' at the back of your head, its even worse then the feeling you get when you do try doing what you really want and failing at it. Atleast you have got the experience, and next time you will do everything you can and learn from your experience in order to get better results next time you try something of that nature.

Some situations like telling the girl of your dreams that you are crazy about her are always a gamble but whether she feels the same way or not atleast you would know where you stand. And things like girls not liking you back should not make you feel like doing what you really want to do is a bad idea because as a friend put it, girls have options just like guys, just because you like her does not mean she has to like you. Guys have a choice when they first see a girl and they usually go for the attractive ones and girls have the same right if they don't find you appealing, they don't have to say yes to you. So making yourself appealing and doing what you want will only go so far but in life you have to be willing to take chances.

You do not want to be the person who regrets not doing certain things when they were younger, if you want to do something really badly, do it. Do not let others who are afraid to take chances stop you, believe in yourself first then others can start believing in you.    If want you want to do in your head is illegal or involves hurting yourself or others then I suggest you keep that in your head and bury that thought.

Social Media Exponential Growth

I remember at the beginning of 2009 I did not know what Facebook was, only a few people at my school had it and they had each other as friends, I was still using another social network called Mxit back then and I was not even that keen of social media then. I don't know how I joined Facebook or why I joined Facebook but I remember it was around April 2009, by December everyone I knew had it and it was Facebook status galore. People were sharing everything from sad stuff, to upcoming parties and relationship mumbo jumbo.

Some people had so many friends I was sure they could not have known so many people, people would invite you and you would accept but they would never say a word to you. I would have people from school or someone from my neighbourhood who would talk to me on Facebook but never in real life, I found that weird. You had people constantly changing their relationship statuses. People were becoming addicted in the masses.

Since then almost every major brand has a Facebook page, we have seen a shift from Facebook groups being popular to know, Facebook fan pages being the preferred method to interact with fans or customers. Facebook has become the leading marketing tool as well as twitter and the new comer Google+.

I have seen the founders of Facebook move faster up the rich list than other people especially in the past couple of years. There are always changes happening with Facebook, before you are even used to a recent change another is being made.

As for twitter I did not like it initially I am still not sure I like it, I have heard people who use it for personal use say its the new in thing and facebook is so last year(I don't think so!), the fact that you are limited to a certain number of characters and that people update their status regularly is almost irritating. There are alot of weird non human profiles which are shady as well, and its like a home made porn site. Those very same characteristics apparently make it good for social media marketing which is why I joined and not for personal reasons.

Afcon final this sunday...Zambia vs Ivory Coast

Well I have to say that firstly I did not think Zambia were going to beat Ghana and now they are in the final, just one more big upset to pull off and they are the rulers of Africa for the next 4 years. They have played really well to pull off a couple of upsets against star studded teams such as Senegal and Ghana, even though Senegal lost like every match. Senegal's showing made me think they were over-rated. Zambia on the other hand who I will be supporting during the final, have shown that you don't have to have most of your team based in Europe to play great football. In fact most of their players are based here in South Africa, this just shows why the premier soccer league is in the top 10 leagues in the world and the 7th most richest in terms of sponsorship deals.

Ivory Coast has not been that impressive in terms of playing beautiful football but their defence has been solid so far. I think they have been doing what is necessary to win. Gervinho's goal in the semi final was an amazing piece of skill though the Mali defence were sleeping, its like the defence was running away from the man with the ball. They left one poor chap to chase after the super sonic Gervinho, he had no chance really.

Ivory coast is another star studded team with a majority if not all its players based overseas, but I will be backing the under dogs come Sunday, not just because they are under dogs but because they are southern African, and most of their players play in my country. I hope it is a great entertaining final.

Super Heroes and Super Villains

The age old battle between heroes and villains will always be there, what fun would a world where there were no superhero movies and comics. Being a fan of such things is a part of growing up, it teaches you to be good and treat others with respect while it entertains you. In hero movies the super villain always has a reason for becoming the way that he or she or it is, but at the end of the comic, movie or series you learn that even if that evil doer is evil by nature or because something made them that way it is not right to hurt others and you must try to change otherwise the hero will give you a pounding.
superhero of gotham city

yes, there are good lessons to be learnt from hero movies/series/comics but I always found it a Little funny and unfair that the good guy always wins. The truth is the evil guys are just as strong if not stronger than the heroes, yes in some comics the hero ends up one day being killed by the villain. The thing is no one even in fictional characters is without weakness and that means sometimes people must be disappointed and be sad because that is how the real world is, the good guys don't always win and sometimes they turn into evil villains.
supervillain the dark night

The thing that made me think of this was the Batman movie the DARK KNIGHT, in that movie I was a fan of the villain the JOKER and not Batman, Batman is boring whereas the Joker was the one who made the movie awesome. Batman has fancy gadgets and all but theres no way he could actually beat the Joker, the Joker is a survivor, an entertainer so full of life and he is creative. All I am saying is the hero need not always win.
